The Rugby Championship Predictions 2012: Round 3
The Rugby Championship returns this weekend with Australia v South Africa and New Zealand v Argentina. Here are my SuperBru picks for Round 3.
New Zealand v Argentina
The Pumas were valiant in earning a draw against the Springboks a fortnight ago, and they ought to improve with every match they play at this level – but I really can’t seem them winning this one.
The All Blacks were pretty clinical in keeping the Wallabies scoreless last time out at Eden Park, and it looked like they had another few gears that went unused. I think they’ll also win this one with something to spare, even without Dan Carter.
My SuperBru prediction is New Zealand by 23.
Australia v South Africa
This is a tricky one to call. Both sides were fairly abysmal in their respective outings a fortnight ago, and both are suffering from injury issues.
Home advantage makes me lean towards the Wallabies, but then the potential power of South Africa against a weak Aussie scrum brings me back the other way. It’s likely that whichever team turns up will take the spoils, and the concern for spectators is that neither team play to their potential.
My SuperBru prediction is South Africa by 5.
