I am excited for Andy and Scotland, for all the reasons metioned above his job will be made easier than it was with England. He can coach players of that there is no doubt.

I think the teams autumn tests had specific goals, not to concede tries, I think he achieved that very well.

When you have a weak team low on confidence the first rule is making them hard to beat, Scotland will be very hard to beat this year. They have a mean scrum and a reasonable line-out which means they will win possession, if they have the ball then it is very hard to score tries against them. The good setplay will not only secure possession but also penalties and they still have Chris Patterson and he is still one of if not the best goal kickers in the world, they are absically garanteed 9 points per game. 9 points plus a rock solid defence is a very hard team to beat, but of course they are very beatable.

So the goals for this 6N will be to stay close to everybodey and win 2 games, preferably one against England. Looking at Wales yesturday it could be 3.

After this competitivness is sorted out the real challenge starts, they need to score tries. Scotland don't have any great fly-halfs and the midfield is weak although M Evans will give them more pace than say England have. I rate him and he can make things happen, their back three is also big and fast but unless they can get good ball from 10 then they will always struggle. This will be Mr Robinsons biggest test. Parks move to Cardiff has openned the door to Jackson and he might develop quickly although he has a long, long way to go.
