South Africa team to play England in the 3rd Test
Heyneke Meyer has called up Jacques Potgeiter, Gio Aplon and Wynand Olivier into the starting XV for the final test against England. Ryan Kankowski and Elton Jantjies are on the bench.

anyone know what Aplon is like? Meyer described him as having the Xfactor. For me that conjours up two extremes; Kurtley Beale and Iain Balshaw. I’m hoping its the latter.
Careful what you wish for. Balshaw could play until he started thinking about the game.
Aplon is like a lightning bolt on horse steroids. A little fella with a step and a turn of pace like nothing you’ve seen!
any particular reason why he is third choice? suspect under the high ball? c’mon thow us a bone we need some false hope to cling on to!
A bit suspect under the highball and not consistent enough. Low work rate. But my gosh does he have pace, a step and incredible agility.
Also a bit lightweight – can’t be much over 75 kgs.
