Declan Kidney has named an unchanged 22 to face Italy this weekend at the Aviva Stadium. Sticking with the same squad that was unable to get play in Paris two weeks ago, this will be Ireland’s first game in three weeks. Johnny Sexton has been passed fit at fly-half.
Ireland:
15. Rob Kearney, 14. Tommy Bowe, 13. Keith Earls, 12. Gordon D’Arcy, 11. Andrew Trimble, 10. Johnny Sexton, 9. Conor Murray, 1. Cian Healy, 2. Rory Best, 3. Mike Ross, 4. Donnacha O’Callaghan, 5. Paul O’Connell (c), 6. Stephen Ferris, 7. Sean O’Brien, 8. Jamie Heaslip
Replacements:
16. Sean Cronin, 17. Tom Court, 18. Donnacha Ryan, 19. Peter O’Mahony, 20. Eoin Reddan, 21. Ronan O’Gara, 22. Fergus McFadden
Speriamo che l’italia faccia bella figura! i mean… we hope that italian team will do a great match!
ah! probaly the italian flanker will be out due an infraction during last rabopro12 match!
I guess the criticisms of Kidney’s selection for the Paris game will be wheeled out for this selection in that case. 3 weeks of stewing on the loss to the Welsh and two weeks frustration at the postponed game in Paris should mean a focused Irish side for this one!
