Interesting team they came up with. As I said on a post on the topic on my own blog, some other candidates possibly suffered because their standout performances came in other competitions…such as Rob Kearney and Simon Zebo.

Would this team be different if each team had been playing their 1XV every game. Surely the likes of Rob Kearney or Paul O’Connell could have made it in.

I’m not fan of the Blues generally but Cuthbert’s been superb this year, in a terrible side. That’s why he got the Wales call up. He was only on a development contract initially I think? I think this list is pretty good really. Glad to see Ashley Beck in there, one of the Welsh players of the season. Hope he gets a chance in Oz.
