Here are my predictions for this weekend’s round of Guinness Premiership matches. Only four games this weekend as the EDF semi-finals also take place, but plenty to be excited about.
Game 109: Sale Sharks v Bath Rugby: Sale Sharks by 5
Game 110: Newcastle Falcons v Leicester Tigers: Leicester Tigers by 9
Game 113: Bristol Rugby v Worcester Warriors: Bristol Rugby by 5
Game 114: Saracens v London Wasps: Saracens by 6
Sale versus Bath should get the weekend off to a flying start and it’s a very difficult game to predict. Sale’s hopes of a playoff place hang by a thread, but with the return of Mathew Tait, Mark Cueto, Andrew Sheridan and Jason White, they will be no pushover. Bath are missing Butch James and that could make all the difference – I’ve picked a narrow home win.
I fancy Bristol to finally record a win against Worcester at the weekend to end their run of 9 defeats since they drew with the Warriors at Sixways. They’ve had some near misses against top opposition in recent weeks, and this game could kickstart a late charge to avoid relegation, even though it’s probably too late.
I’ve picked Saracens to beat Wasps with home advantage giving them the edge. Both sides see the return of a number of international players, but Saracens have an excellent record at Vicarage Road.
Leicester appear to be in good form having reached the top of the table last weekend. Newcastle’s winning streak came to an end last week at Bath and I think the Tigers will take the spoils at Kingston Park.

All those games look like they could go either way but I wouldn”t have disagreed with the predictions though I see Leicester lost last night.
I’ll stick in EDF predictions , looking at the Ospreys selection Ryan Jones , Tuialtiu, and Mike Phillips on the bench I’ll say Gloucester by 5 .

My preferred option would be two Welsh wins of course !
Leicester get a bonus point despite losing at Newcastle but I will take Ospreys and Cardiff to make it a Welsh affair in the EDF Final.
Right about the EDF results anyway if not the scores , as far as the Ospreys are concerned never has a game been dominated by one side so much without any returns , 8 line breaks and no points for the first time in the regions history .Oh for a world class coach to turn them from a bunch of talented individuals into a team that is equal if not better than the sum of its parts. Is Scott Johnson that man , personally I have my doubts based on a number of reasons but that is a debate for another day perhaps.
Do I swallow my pride and go to Twickenham to support a CARDIFF (being the defining adjective ) Blues side or stick my feet up and watch it on the box . Well if the Ospreys win in Munster (ha ha I know but backs to the wall you know ) then the budget will be blown on the Heineken semi instead.
