I was suprised when Twelvetrees missed the cut, the I looked down the list of centres and couldn't see anyone I would drop to make space for him.

Given the opposition and our defensive frailties thus far, I would pick Barritt if fit this weekend, if he's not then I would have JJ wing and Allen centre.

We have missed Lawes, don't forget we have already seen as part of a badly beaten up pack against the boks at Twickenham in 2010. He would have added a lot of athleticism, line speed and no doubt put in some huge hits, but I don't think he would have been able to neutralise the bok close quarter battle game plan. His game is really about getting all round the park to hit rucks early and hard, jumping out of the line to flatten someone or steaming after a restart to destroy another French scrum half, not so much the standing round the fringes to deal with people bigger than him in my opinion.

Why isn't anybody making a case for Allen, I agree that Twelvetrees is the future but England need a centre that can pass, and run some lines.

Allen is unspecatacular but does a lot of good things, he runs good lines Which even if he doesn't get the ball, he makes space for the 10 and 13. His defense is underrated, he hits well above his size and can organize the defense. I would like him to have a run, this would give Joseph or Manu better ball to work with and would allow us to judge them as an attacking threat.

I think he is worth a shot.

Agree on Fearns, very physical, he could be the man to front up against the boks backrow forwards, not Haskell, he has been proven inadequate to many times before. Johnson will have his work cut out at the breakdown without Robshaw on the field.

Shame about Lawes missing the tour we could ahve found out a lot about him in this situation, he hits really hard and is athletic, would love to see him against the Boks, make him or break him so to speak.

Fearns knocked people back in the tackle, can we say that about anyone else in a white shirt across the 4 games? Could be the closest thing we have to a Lydiate, wouldn't mind seeing him involved in the Saturday 22.

Sorry for Ugo, will he keep with Strettle now i wonder or maybe JJ on wing? Hope Abendanons form is rewarded with a bench spot as well.

I'm guessing that Abendanon will make the bench for Saturday, and I think he deserves to. Looks like Haskell will be starting at 7?

Glad to see one of the young hookers has put his had up. Mears was such a waste of a place - not young enough/ not good enough. Just a shame none of our up and coming fly halves were given a go mid week, Farrell even would have benefitted from some game time.

I see Haskell wasn't used at all - assume he'll be in the test team? May got name checked by Lancaster - does he have a chance? Still baffled that Twelvetrees wasn't taken - ticks all the boxes at inside centre.
