Habana tipped to be star of RWC 2007
South African thunderbolt Bryan Habana is tipped by The Rugby Blog readers as the biggest star of the Rugby World Cup. In a telling result, a Springbok tops the poll with 29% of the vote, whilst an Englishman languishes at the bottom.
A huge reversal of fortunes in just four years sees 3% of readers choosing Jonny Wilkinson as the player to watch - a far cry from the heady days of 2003 where he was the centre of attention.
Dan Carter was the second-favourite with 25%, Irish skipper Brian O’Driscoll was third with 15%, and the French sex-symbol Sebastian Chabal received 10% of the vote.
Richie McCaw (8%), Schalk Burger (6%) and even a Welshman (James Hook, 6%) are more likely to be stars of this Rugby World Cup than poor old Jonny.
