Having not seen any of this year’s Tri Nations yet, I’m in no position to write any sort of preview and attempt to answer this question. Perhaps you can help?
The last I saw of Australia was when England put on their first decent performance in years and caused them something of an upset. Their scrum was creaking and they were missing tackles, and on that evidence, you’d expect South Africa to win.
But then the Springboks are going into the game on the back of two convincing defeats in New Zealand, they are missing a few players and Peter de Villiers is dropping more clangers in the press which probably won’t help squad morale.
Was it that New Zealand were simply too strong, and that they would have beaten any team on that form, or are the World Champions on the decline?
I’m looking forward to my first taste of the Tri-Nations, and if anyone can help to fill me in on what’s been happening so far, and what we should expect from these teams tomorrow, I’d be grateful.
What are your predictions for the game?
I think the Boks will win tomorrow. Ozzies looking a bit short of ideas but you never know as they have quite a few game breakers. Never write them off I suppose, but i think SA will bounce back from defeat.

NZ beat SA as a result of some of the best counter-attacking tries i’ve seen in a long while but SA weren’t as far away from them as the scoreline suggested. They weren’t helped by dumb sin-binnings in each game and for once i’m joining the McCaw naysayers because he was invisible to the ref.
I think it’ll be close because it’s in Australia and SA must be starting to doubt themselves but SA will probably just sneak it.
